Senior Process Engineer

About us:

At Voltanova, we are building the world’s lowest-cost, long-duration thermal energy storage system – delivering heat and power at up to 2000°C to decarbonize heavy industry. Our mission is to eliminate gigatons of industrial emissions by enabling industries to run on 24/7 renewable energy at a cost lower than fossil fuels.

We are looking for a Senior Process Engineer who can bring deep technical expertise and process design experience to accelerate our journey.

Brief Role:

We are looking for an engineering expert who thrives in challenging environments and can lead the development of ultra-high temperature Thermal Energy Storage (TES) systems — powering the next generation of clean energy solutions.

Experience: 5–12 years
Qualification: PhD / M.Tech / B.Tech in Thermal Engineering or equivalent

Key Competencies:

  • Lead process engineering design for high-temperature thermal energy storage systems.
  • Develop and review P&IDs, general arrangement drawings, plant layouts, and pipe routing.
  • Conduct heat and mass balance studies, thermal and mechanical calculations for process optimization.
  • Design and size heat exchangers, steam cycle systems, boilers, and high-temperature process equipment.
  • Specify, select, and size pumps, pipes, valves, fans, instruments, and control systems.
  • Drive FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) and support detailed engineering.
  • Ensure compliance with ASME, IBR, API, and Indian Standards in all process design deliverables.
  • Work closely with mechanical, thermal, and electrical engineers to integrate designs into a seamless system.
  • Provide technical leadership during fabrication, installation, and commissioning.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Chemical / Mechanical / Process Engineering.
  • 5+ years of relevant industrial experience in process engineering.
  • Proven expertise in thermal energy systems, steam cycles, boilers, and heat exchangers.
  • Strong understanding of high-temperature materials (metals and non-metals).
  • Demonstrated experience with P&IDs, plant layouts, and FEED studies.
  • Hands-on experience with thermal/mechanical design tools and process simulation software.
  • Familiarity with ASME / IBR / API / Indian Standards.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, early-stage environment, balancing rigor with speed.

What you’ll get:

  • Industry-beating salary (top 1%)
  • Employee Stock Options (ESOPs) → real ownership in a $100B global market
  • Comprehensive health insurance
  • Performance Bonus
  • A mission-driven, flat, fast-moving culture where every voice matters
